Chinese share prices were up 1.22 percent Tuesday morning led by banks after Shanghai Pudong Development Bank posted strong earnings for the past year, dealers said.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index, which covers A and B shares, was up 22.86 points or 1.22 percent at 1,903.58.
The Shanghai A-share index added 24.05 points, or 1.22 percent, to 1,998.77, while the Shenzhen A-share index gained 3.57 points, or 0.59 percent, to 603.80.
