    解析：该句断句只需要在but并列连词前断句即可，因为but并列了两个完整的句子，因此需要将其断开。虽然断句较少，但是需要调整的部分有两处。第一处为as引导的定语从句，用双逗号隔开，做插入语，因此在翻译时建议将其调整到句子最前面进行翻译。第二处需要调整的地方为表示序号的first and foremost，该处依然采用双逗号隔开做插入语，成分为状语，因此建议将其调整到动词前进行翻译。句子剩余部分顺译即可。
